    Beautiful, Durable Ocarina

    It does sound a bit reedier than a traditional ceramic ocarina, but I actually kind of like the sound! It accumulates moisture in the mouthpiece more, but you can easily solve that by running a strip of paper through it. I love that it's more durable than a ceramic ocarina. It's beautiful and even though there's a slightly noticeable seam where the two pieces of wood were joined, you can't feel it, only see it.

    I am new to playing ocarina. I got a cheap one from a ren fair and found it so difficult to play. Found STL on the Legend of Zelda lore podcast and decided to give it a try! Playing a quality ocarina was definitely the key! Amazing sound and quality! I love the wood love on it, so like and easy to play and the notes come out so clearly! Will definitely come back for more!

    Excellent addition to my collection

    Good ocarina, lightweight, good tone. Breath curve isn't quite as linear as some of my other ocarinas, being a little difficult on the lower notes, but that smooths out pretty quickly with practice. Breath requirement is overall pretty light, and even on the high notes I can play for a good while. Volume is reasonable, a little quieter than my ceramics but still very audible. Tone is very warm and a little breathy, well suited to folk music in my opinion. Ergonomics are good, not the best I've played with but very comfortable, especially when considering the weight.

    I bought this for the looks and am keeping it for the quality. It really does sound softer than a typical ocarina, but really holds its own.
