  • Visions & Fantasies is the first concerto ever written for ocarina and orchestra. Commissioned by the St. Louis School of Music, it was composed by Kristopher Maloy, and was premiered on May 2, 2010. You can visit our blog to learn more about this concerto.

    The piano reduction score (completed by the composer) and the solo ocarina part are now available. A CD is also included with these parts. In addition to the full tracks of each movement, the CD includes the accompaniment tracks, so you can experience playing with the orchestra

    Third Movement - Prayer (Heather Scott with the Town and Country Symphony under David Peek)



    The soloist enters a mystical monastery, and begins to hum a chant-like tune. Her song echoes in the cavernous space, and builds to a moment of spiritual transcendence. (K. Maloy)

    Fifth Movement - Fiery Flourish:



    The soloist imagines herself a dragon-slaying hero in an ancient, fiery realm. (K. Maloy)
